In January 2026, How To Academy celebrates two years as part of the Fane Group.

Founded in 2013 by media entrepreneur John Gordon, How To Academy is the home of big thinking: a public forum bringing together artists, leaders, and scholars in conversation and debate in an unrivalled programme of live events, streams, and podcasts.

Highlights include hosting Dame Jacinda Ardern at the Royal Albert Hall in conversation with Bill Bailey, celebrating the legendary photojournalist Don McCullin’s 90th birthday at the Barbican, and taking “rock star” philosopher Slavoj Zizek across the country and to the United States, in conversation with guest interviewers including comedian Frankie Boyle and economist Yanis Varoufakis.

“It’s been thrilling to grow the scope and scale of our offer in the UK as we take advantage of the Fane Group’s sophisticated production abilities, extensive touring knowledge, and digital marketing acumen,” says Managing Director Vassili Christodoulou.

“And even more exciting to launch the How To Academy brand in the US, taking some of the world’s most renowned thinkers from coast to coast in spectacular live shows.”
